TOU (Time-of-Use) Mode is an intelligent energy management feature that optimizes battery charging and discharging based on different electricity rate periods. It helps users reduce electricity costs by charging the battery during lower-price periods and using stored energy during higher-price periods.
1、Mode Display Rules:
The TOU Mode interface is only displayed in the app after this feature is enabled. If TOU Mode is disabled in the app, it will no longer be displayed on the device.
2、Default Backup Power Setting:
After entering TOU Mode, the default backup power level is set to 60%. Users can adjust this backup reserve percentage according to their needs in the app.
3、Solar Charging Priority:
Regardless of the electricity price period or grid status, solar energy always takes priority for charging the battery and is not affected by TOU Mode strategies.
4、High Electricity Price Period (with AC input connected):
Main strategy: Use stored energy to reduce electricity costs.
-When the battery level is above the backup power setting, the battery supplies power to connected loads first, and grid power is not used.
-When the battery level is equal to or below the backup power setting, grid power will only charge the battery back to the backup level, then stop charging. After that, the loads will be powered directly through bypass mode to avoid charging during expensive electricity periods.
5、Low Electricity Price Period (with AC input connected):
Main strategy: Store energy at lower electricity rates.
Grid power performs two functions simultaneously:
-Charging the battery.
-Supplying power directly to connected loads through bypass mode.
6、Normal Electricity Price Period (with AC input connected):
Main strategy: Maintain backup reserve and avoid unnecessary charging.
-When the battery level is above the backup power setting, grid charging is disabled and loads are powered directly through bypass mode.
-When the battery level is equal to or below the backup power setting, grid power will charge the battery only until it reaches the backup level, then switch to bypass power supply.
7、Automatic Output Protection:
When no AC input is available, the battery will continue discharging until the SOC reaches 0%, after which the unit will automatically shut down.
Please note: Even if grid power is restored or the battery has available power, the output will not restart automatically. Manual power-on is required.
8、Charging/Discharging Switching Hysteresis:
To prevent frequent switching near the threshold point, all charging and discharging transitions include a software buffer of up to 5%.
For example, if the backup power level is set to 60%, the unit may stop charging at 60% and only restart the charging logic after the battery level drops to approximately 55%.
